What to Expect
Our worship is traditional, though engaging, with beautiful music and powerful preaching. There is a time for sharing faith with children (ages 3 through 8) during the service and a fun, educational offering for them during the second half of worship. There is an excellent nursery for children, newborns through preschool.
As a first time visitor, you can enter the church from three main entrances. If you park in the parking deck, you can come in that door and be greeted by a member of the church. If you park on the street you can come in the courtyard and enter through the atrium door, or enter from Fifth Street at the back of the sanctuary where there are also greeters. These folks can direct you to classes for all ages from 9:30 to 10:35 am (September through May) or to the sanctuary for worship at 11:00 am (10:00 am from Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day Weekend).
Are you interested in becoming a member of Second Presbyterian Church? On designated Sundays, interested inquirers gather at the pastor's home for a time of getting to know each other and learning more about this church and what membership means. The class then meets with the Session (the governing body of the church) prior to worship the next Sunday to be received into membership.
