RVA Street Singers Concert - 3pm Sunday, May 6

About RVA Street Singers

RVA Street Singers is a community choir for people affected by homelessness and allies in the Greater Richmond Region. Founded in January 2018 by a partnership between Second Presbyterian Church, VCU Department of Music and VCU School of Social Work, the choir is hosted at Second Presbyterian Church on Mondays following the Walk-in Ministries Lunch. Weekly rehearsals are supported by the integration of VCU service-learning students enrolled in Music and Social Justice, directed by VCU Department of Music faculty member Rebecca Tyree and accompanied by Sherri Matthews. Engaged in singing a variety of styles from sacred and gospel to R & B and pop music, the RVA Street Singers have already sung with the Second Presbyterian Church choir for Sunday service in March and engaged in a choral exchange with the VCU Women's Choir. Celebrating the unique talents of each member of our community and the joy of singing, we seek to "build community through song.”
