Capital Campaign Update!

The “Sharing the Light of God’s Grace” capital campaign continues to progress to its $5 million goal! As of today, the total amount pledged to the three-year campaign is $4,417,581. from 157 donors. This total represents 89% of our goal.

THANK YOU to everyone who has pledged their support to this historic, landmark campaign at Second Pres.  All pledges of any amount are valued and welcome.  Now that the sanctuary enhancements have been completed, we turn to the next phase of discernment and planning of future efforts to update our kitchen, restrooms, and points of entry. We also are gathering information via the “Moving Forward Together” task force to guide decision making as to mission endeavors to support and building improvements. On Sunday, November 5 after worship we will have a church wide gathering to hear from this task force. Please plan to be there!

The “Sharing the Light of God’s Grace” campaign will culminate with the 175th Anniversary of the founding of Second Presbyterian Church in 2020—and we have so much to celebrate. To God be the glory as we continue to “Know Him and Make Him Known” on Fifth Street, in the City of Richmond, and in the world beyond. Members of the capital campaign committee are: Allison and Vernon Mays (co-chairs), Jeff Wells and Mac Pence (co-chairs), Mary Sue Donahue, Tom Jefferson, Tom Holland, Marjorie Clark, Greg Dickie, Don Falls, and Julia Carr. Please feel free to contact any member of the campaign committee for further information. Campaign information is also regularly updated on the church website.
