An Introduction to our 175th Celebration
The Apostle Paul writes that we should “not be conformed to this world but be transformed”... that we may “discern what is the will of God — what is good and acceptable and perfect.” (Rom 12:2)
Transformation, by God’s grace and Spirit — toward the will of God — toward what is good and acceptable and perfect — is our constant and continuing goal as God’s people.
Transformation is what we seek as we celebrate 175 years of Second Presbyterian Church, Richmond —
How do we remember our past and move faithfully into God’s future?
How do we reconcile some aspects of our complicated history and live gracefully in the present?
How do we build upon the rich blessings of our sacred sanctuary and sacred calling and rededicate our lives: “to know Christ and make Christ known in downtown Richmond and throughout the world?”
We are so excited about our plans for 2020 — a JUBILEE year — our 175th anniversary of Second Presbyterian Church, Richmond — as we REMEMBER, RECONCILE, and REDEDICATE our lives as God’s people. We open our hearts to God. We hope you will join us as God continues to transform us into what is good, acceptable, and perfect.
